April Neighborhood Clean Up Day

Join the Office of the Public Advocate, NYC Department of Environmental Protection and the Parent Association for a day of education about water waste management, infrastructure, and rain garden stewardship. Come together with neighbors to cleanup the community!

About the event
The event will start at 11:00 AM with a brief training by the DEP and then we cleanup!
The volunteers work will focus on planting and fixing up rain gardens at nearby catch basins. Volunteers can also break out into trash pick-up routes and care for other rain gardens and catch basins on other blocks. The duration of this work would take no more than two hours to complete.
DEP will be providing the tools needed for this event (planting tools, gloves, safety vests, grabbers.) Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes for this activity.
